DeChard Irlin Henrich Marshall-Freeman (also known as Pastor FREE), was born February 27, 1982 in Houston, Texas to Anthony Freeman and Carol Marshall. He accepted Jesus as his personal Lord and Savior at the age of 6. With the call of God apparent on his LIFE to family from an early age, it was no surprise when he acknowledged his call to preach the Gospel at the age of 8 years old. Standing on a constructed box in the sanctuary of the Mt. Sinai Missionary Baptist Church in Austin, Texas, Freeman preached his first public sermon on February 25, 1991. DeChard Freeman began to exhibit signs of leadership, ministry and the hand of God on his LIFE in school and through community organizations (Teen Leadership Austin, Mt. Sinai Youth Ministry, Who’s Who, St. John District Youth, Austin Children’s Chorale, Austin Chapter of GMWA Youth Choir, No Weapon male group, etc...)

Pastor FREE attended Austin Schools and graduated from Stephen F. Austin High School in 2000. After receiving a clear call to pastoral ministry, Freeman determined to complete his undergraduate studies at Huston-Tillotson University, where he served as the Assistant to the Chaplain and graduated with a B.A. in Psychology in May of 2004. While at Huston-Tillotson, Freeman met and fell in love with Kayla Ardoin and they were married November 12, 2004. DeChard and Kayla are the proud parents of three sons and one daughter— Micah, Caleb, Josiah, adn Ymani. After graduating from HTU, Freeman went on to pursue a M. Div from Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary (graduated May 2008). While in college and seminary, Pastor FREE served as the Youth and Young Adult Minister at Mt. Sinai Church.

In September of 2008, Pastor Freeman launched the Abundant LIFE Community Baptist Church (ALC) in Pflugerville, Texas. As Pastor of ALC, he has led this ministry to hundreds of members, multiple worship experiences, multi-site ministry and most recently a $1.6 million ministry campus. In just 11 years of church LIFE, Pastor FREE has led the Abundant LIFE Church to produce numerous musical narrative sermons, a live recording, studio recordings, two movies, outreach ministries, a summer camp for children and a 501 c(3) non-profit organization, just to name a few. Pastor FREE has been noted and awarded as a community leader in the Greater Austin Area. He serves as co-founder of the Next Level Ministry Fellowship, Founder or FREE Ndeed Ministries, CEO of Abundant LIFE Community Development Corporation, Assistant Youth Coordinator of St. John District Association and Board Member of Christ Together Austin. Pastor FREE is a proven and nationally recognized evangelist, an accomplished writer, producer and music artist, a film maker, community organizer, servant leader and now author! Pastor FREE believes his LIFE’s call is to present the Gospel of Jesus Christ to the world with clarity, creativity, collaborative efforts and “coolness.” His favorite bible passage is John 10:10 and favorite hymn is “The Blood Will Never Lose its Power.” He is committed to his family and ministry until the LORD calls him from labor to reward!

DeChard Freeman is a pastor, evangelist, community leader, author, artist, producer, and family man. Having started preaching the gospel at the age of eight, he has since sought to creatively and effectively package the gospel message to reach those on the fringes of faith.

Every creative attempt is intentionally to display the love of God and gifts and talents of others. Freeman’s commitment is to produce quality Kingdom content that will inspire the hearer, convert the sinner, and encourage the dreamer. The hope of FREE Ndeed Ministries is to continually push the envelope of creative ministry and represent the Kingdom of God in fresh and relevant ways.
